Leaving the cemetery, we flirted with death as we crossed the busy roads to reach Anzac Park. Our fearless leader, Helen, assured us this would be a shorter route to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre than following the road. It was certainly more scenic, though some of those hills were challenging. The day was quickly warming up and we were looking forward to second heat-beating strategy - hanging out in an air-conditioned shopping centre to view its Christmas decorations. |
We made it to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre just before the shops opened. A coffee while we rested our weary feet hit the spot before searching out the decorations. We were a little disappointed as they were the same as last year, but we re-posed in many of the same spots as we had done in 2018. By now we had notched up 14 kilometres and the day was getting hotter, so we took a bus back to the Botanical Gardens and finished our morning with a picnic cuppa and cake. |
