Women's Work celebrates the empowering art forms and originality of female creatives through a series of outdoor installations and is part of Brisbane City Council's Outdoor Gallery which transforms Brisbane's laneways and city streets into imaginative, curious and engaging spaces.
By now we were famished so we were ready for a hearty lunch, which the Treasury Kitchen happily provided. Their November special of steak, oysters, chips and salad really hit the spot, and was a bargain at $19.
With hunger sated, we hit the art scene again. A stop in at the QUT Art Gallery saw us viewing "Strange Ways", a most interesting exhibition by Anne Wallace. The paintings are beautiful, but exude a strangeness that can sometimes be disconcerting. Some create a real tension that make you feel quite uncomfortable because you are not sure what is real and what is imagined. |
