North Queensland Road Trip - September/October 2020
While the world continued to face the COVID-19 crisis and our borders remained closed, we continued to make the most of our fortunate circumstances. The Whitsundays is a wonderful part of the world to wait out a pandemic, but there is a great deal to explore nearby, so we decided to do a road trip north for a few weeks. Much of the trip was planned around tracing more family history haunts, retracing some paths we followed long ago, and treading many new ones.
We packed up our trusty little Tiida and followed many a long and dusty road, chewing up kilometres and experiences we shall treasure forever. We cannot say what we loved best - the west, the Tablelands, or the coast. Each area had it own special beauty, its own special characters, it own unique attractions. Click on the names of the following to read more about our destinations - Ravenswood - Charters Towers - Ranenshoe and Almaden - Chillagoe - Atherton Tablelands - Cassowary Coast.
