Kilcoy is on the D'Aguilar Highway about 100 kilometres north west of Brisbane and its industry mainly revolves around beef. In 65 years the abattoirs have grown from a modest local butchery service plant to be Australia’s fourth biggest beef processor, exporting to 20 countries from the Middle East to Japan and South East Asia. We walked around the lovely streets of the town, where history is well recorded on signs and buildings. |

Woongooroo Estate is one of the growing number of wineries in the Somerset Region. It is a family owned, boutique vineyard, run by ex-teachers Phil and Gail, and we enjoyed a wine tasting session while waiting for lunch. While we did not do too much walking today. we did discover many interesting places in the Somerset region, and some great possibilities for future walks. |
