Another week of social distancing, another ZOOM walk for the hungry hikers. Helen and I chose to climb some local streets and hills and were afforded fine views of distant places we haven’t been able to visit in many weeks. The others did river walks and Wynnum surrounds. We might not be lucky enough to walk together physically, but we are together in spirit. This and perfect autumn weather lift spirits no end. Stay safe everyone.

Another perfect sunny April morning - walking our separate ways, connected by ZOOM and friendship. Helen and I walked through to the other side of Beenleigh, then followed paths through parkways leading to Logan River Parklands. We crossed the freshly painted Red Bridge before winding our way home to clock up 14 kilometres. Other paths followed by group members included Windaroo surrounds, Wynnum waterfront and hills, Qld Uni and Toohey Forest.
Another Zoom hike as we enter further into the Covid 19 crisis. Thank goodness we are allowed outside to exercise. This week Helen and I incorporated some hills around the back of Beenleigh on our walk. The weather remains glorious and the birdlife abundant. The world is still beautiful.
Our second week of Zoom walking - not quite as good as the real deal, but nice to catch up. Helen and I, being neighbours, walk the same way but at a distance. Leanne and Jocelyn do the same in their part of the world. And the others walk singly. Helen and I walked through the Eagleby Wetlands and by the Albert River. The weather is gorgeous at the moment, and the places we passed through felt so peaceful. With so much beauty around it is hard to believe we are in the midst of such a crisis. Stay safe everyone. Stay apart, but stay connected.
Life has changed so much in a few short weeks. Thank goodness one can still walk outdoors for exercise and fresh air, though this has to be alone. Our Hungry Hiker group decided to hook up digitally this morning as we each walked our own path. ZOOM was our connection of choice, and after a few hiccups we mastered it quite well. Thanks to Jocelyn for the screen shots below. Jayne was still in complete lockdown after her cruise, but connected in her back yard. As Helen and I are neighbours I just followed her at a safe distance all the way. Not as good as real time together, but still a lovely feeling to be able to connect on such a beautiful morning. We still have much to be grateful for.
