Helen and I took a rivercat to New Farm and joined the others at the Powerhouse. The river was lovely as usual, and the walk through New Farm Park was ablaze with the colour of jacarandas, roses and other glorious blooms.
The Powerhouse is always a delight to visit, whether to see a performance, visit the cafe or restaurant, or just look around and enjoy its quirkiness. It is Queensland’s home for contemporary culture, an old power station of the 1920s reborn as an arts centre on the Brisbane River. Reading its graffiti laden walls, including in the toilets, is fun and can take up quite some time. While enjoying a coffee at WATT (the restaurant on the bottom floor at river level) we contemplated past floods. |
This performance is given weekly, on Wednesdays at 10am and tickets cost $30. We walked it, lived it and loved it, and would highly recommend the show to locals and visitors alike to our beautiful city.
