Wild Horse Mountain Lookout has often claimed our attention from the Bruce Highway just north of Caboolture, and finally we decided to take a look. From the carpark it is a steep 700 metre climb on a paved path. At the top, the distinctive landmark (fire watch tower) offers amazing 360 degree views of the Glasshouse Mountains and across Pumicestone Passage and Bribie and Moreton Islands. Interpretive boards inform visitors of the features of the surrounding area Wild Horse Mountain was named after the wild brumbies which roamed the area. |
