First awarded in 1921, the Archibald Prize is Australia's most prestigious (and controversial) portraiture prize. It is awarded annually to the best portrait painting of a notable Australian, and is a who's who of Australian culture - from politicians and celebrities to sports stars and artists. As well as the portrait entries, there was also a display of young artists between the ages of 5 to 18 in the Young Archie section.
