We walked through the Southport Parklands, which were full of families enjoying the seaside and park activities. After crossing the Nerang River, we hiked along the ocean front to Surfers Paradise where we came across night markets in full swing. Some taste testing later we left the crowds and walked as far as the Northcliffe Surf Life Saving Club. Here we dined in their bistro, which was quite busy as it was members' night. Despite this, the service was fantastic and the food delicious. No wonder it is so popular.
