He: You can drop the kids at school.
She: Why me?
He: Because I'm not explaining to the teacher why they are late again.
How wonderful to be an outside observer. A retiree is guilt-free - well, almost. I still feel a bit guilty being able to indulge in such freedom while others must work. But it is a burden with which I can live. Our first stop was a few steps down the beach and then a great many more steps up to the top of Elephant Rock. Elephant Rock, so named because it looks like an elephant, is right on the beach and offers spectacular views in all directions. |
We decided that Point Danger was the best place to munch our picnic lunch. With the whales migrating north for winter, they put on a wonderful show of splashing and frolicking in the ocean for our dining entertainment. | After dining, we straddled the border between Queensland and New South Wales and, tonight being the first game for this year's State of Origin match, made our choice clear. Having made the walk to Coolangatta so easily, we ditched our original plan to catch a bus back to the car and decided to walk instead. Fueled by joie de vivre and a Cold Rock ice-cream, we all agreed it was a brilliant way to end another perfect day walking in paradise. |
